Expression Language: Examples

Expression Language: Examples

The syntax of binding expressions is based on the JSP 2.0 Expression Language, which is based on the object, which accesses the syntax of JavaScript. In JSP, expressions are delimited with “${},” but in JSF they are delimited with “#{}.” This is because in JSP 2.0, the JSP container evaluates expressions before the page is executed. However, JSF needs to be able to evaluate the expressions at a time the view component selects.
